You will be aware that an Interim Executive Board has replaced the governing body at Bicester Community College in the last few weeks, and you will be pleased to know that we have lost no time in beginning the task of rebuilding the educational standards in the school so that BCC is removed from Special Measures at the earliest opportunity.

We have rapidly discovered that BCC has considerable support available through its neighbour, Cooper School, and we are delighted to inform you that the Federation Governing Board have agreed unanimously to support our efforts by allowing Ben Baxter, their Executive Head, to act as interim Headteacher at BCC.

Ben will add his significant expertise and experience to the task we have, and will prove invaluable in creating a new can do spirit and culture of empowerment at BCC to inspire staff, and students alike, to produce their best.

You can be assured that the Interim Executive Board is fully committed to providing Bicester with two quality secondary schools, and it is clear that that view is shared by Bicester Federation.

We know we can count on your help and support in our task – we will keep you informed of our progress and you will have an early chance to meet the IEB and our Interim Head in the new term.

Bob Wintringham

Chair of IEB

  4. Bicester Community College Family Year 3 & 4 GIRLS ONLY ‘Multiskills’ @ Brookside Primary School.
Icon for Post #5362 It was decided that it would be a nice idea to run an event just for year 3 & 4 girls. Many thanks to Brookside Primary School, who kindly let us use their hall for this event. Mr Peak, a Sports Coach for North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership, is familiar with the children in the primary schools. He set up different ‘multiskill’ stations, some very difficult, but this did not deter the girls and they rose to the challenges put before them. 10 to 20 girls attended from each...
