Starting Year 7
Starting secondary school is a big change from being at primary school and you are probably really excited and a little nervous about joining us in September. The good thing is that everyone in your class will be feeling the same way, and all the teachers know that you are new, so they will make it as easy as possible for you too.
By now you will have had the chance to visit the College at the Open Evening and you’ll shortly receive a Welcome Booklet with important information for when you join. In July all of our new Year 7 students are invited to visit the College for two days when you will have the chance to meet the other students and your form tutor. Members of the Student Council will be there to offer you support and help if you have any questions.
Visiting the College in July is a great way for you and your parents to find out more and you will be involved in a range of exciting ‘taster’ lessons including science as well as some new activities. This will be in your Tutor Groups, so you’ll have the opportunity to forge some friendships over the two days (and perhaps meet up over the summer holidays).
