About the College
- A Technology College (recently redesignated for its Third Phase, 2006-2009) with excellent facilities for ICT and training available for staff all the year round.
- A fully comprehensive intake.
- A vibrant Sixth Form of 170 students, studying 24 different AS/A2 subjects and 3 GNVQ courses.
- An Equal Opportunities Policy in which all qualified teaching staff have the opportunity to undertake Sixth Form work.
- Improving academic results at all levels: the College joined the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust’s ‘Most Improved Schools Club’ in February 2006 in recognition of its 10% jump in GCSE A* - C percentage over the last three years.
- A creative approach to the curriculum, (recognised as "outstanding" in 2007 Ofsted Report) with fast track opportunities and a commitment to make provision for individual talent.
- New purpose-built buildings: two thirds of the College has been built within the last four years.

- Excellent staff development provision: as an Investors in People award holder the College expects to provide training and opportunities for staff to develop their skills and talents not only within their department but also across the College as a whole.
- A global perspective: the College is reapplying for its International School Award.
- A Personalised Learning Department which provides special programmes for those students who are particularly suited to vocational work and training.
- Our Achievement Centre comprises an exceptionally well qualified and committed Learning Support department and an innovative Star Zone which provides for students who need behaviour management programmes.
- Excellent sports facilities, with joint use of the Sports Centre on the same site. The College holds the Sportsmark Award for its commitment to sporting activities, team work, and partner work with local primary schools and clubs.
- The College holds the Artsmark Gold Award in recognition of it's commitment to the Arts, with school drama productions and music concerts each term, workshops and visits.
- A popular Activities Week in July which ends the school year with students and teachers involved in extra curricular activities. Newly appointed staff, if available, are welcome to join us for this week.
Newly Qualified Staff
- Are given a teaching timetable which constitutes 90% of the normal teaching load.
- Are able to take advantage of a high quality Induction programme.
- Will find their Heads of Department knowledgeable and supportive.
- Can expect to meet newly qualified staff from other schools, arranged by Oxfordshire LEA.
- Will have opportunities to see other teachers at work.
- Will be invited to take part in the life of the College in July, and will be paid for this month.
